Visit to Aras an Uachtaran

Students from St. Brendan's College, Belmullet recently had the pleasure of visiting Aras an Uachtaran to visit with President Mary McAleese. Teachers Mr. Treacy and Miss O Sullivan accompanied the students. Pupils were invited to view the credential ceremony at the Aras. Ambassadors from Sri Lanka, Portugal, Romania and Mongolia presented their credentials to the president after being appointed by their Governments. Students from St. Brendan's watched the ceremony in the state function room. The President then met with each of the students who were invited to afternoon tea with Mrs. McAleese. The students thoroughly enjoyed the day, especially the intimate nature of the occasion
