CAREER OPTIONS

Changes in family structures and work practices over the past number of years have resulted in an ever-increasing demand for childcare facilities for working parents. Currently this demand for quality childcare exceeds the level of services available to parents. Service providers in this sector are finding it increasingly difficult to source qualified staff to enable them to expand their services. Students who obtain Certificates in Childcare will be qualified to work in centre-based care services, eg playgroups/crèches, or home based care, eg family day-carer, au-pair.
