St. Brendan's College

The management, staff, and students of St. Brendan's College look forward to welcoming all 6th class students from all over the Barony of Erris into our school in the next few months.

Here in St. Brendan's College you will find that the entire school community will ensure that your transition from primary to secondary education is both enjoyable and productive.

As a student of St. Brendan's College you can look forward with confidence to being educated and cared for by a young, highly qualified and motivated staff, whilst enjoying the comfort of an ultra modern school building.

We hope that this website will give you an insight into the courses on offer in St. Brendan's College and that it will illustrate just how many extra curricular activities are available to every student who attends here.

In recent years our school has been fortunate to have secured funding of over 7 million euro from the Department of Education and Skills which resulted in the building of our ultra high tech Sports Hall with playing courts of over 594 m2 and both a large extension to and upgrade of the original school building. Thankfully this upgrading is now to continue with a further €250,000 to be spent this year on Information Technology and a full refurbishment of Home Economics rooms.

In this modern school we have a modern approach to education and we are keen to listen to the needs of students, parents and the community. Our subject choice is unique in that students are given a free choice outside of the core subjects and that the timetable is then created to suit the individual needs of the students, guidance on subject choice as always will be available to be all students on enrolment.

In conclusion as both a native of Erris and a past student of St. Brendan's College I will personally guarantee to work very hard to continue to provide the high level of education that I feel every student in Erris is both entitled to and deserves.
