Saint Bendan’s College Contingencies for Covid-19. Closure from 6pm 12th March until 29th March.

In response to the Taoiseach’s announcement that all schools are to close until the 29th of March, the following contingencies have been put in place to support all student’s education.

All students should have access to their Office 365 email address and will be able to communicate with their teachers during normal school hours.
If students cannot access their email account, their password can be reset by emailing a request from another email address (preferably a parent’s email) to StBrendansCollege@msletb.ie
Teachers will use Microsoft Office 365 and its various platforms to communicate and set work for their classes. This will happen in line with class timetables and students have been advised to plan their work in line with their school timetable each day.
In line with our schools Internet Acceptable Use policy, only the student’s school email account will be responded to by teachers. We cannot respond to students personal email addresses.
Students have been advised to bring all their books from their lockers.
Communication with the school by parents can be done as normal by ringing 097 81437 or emailing StBrendansCollege@msletb.ie.
This contingency will take effect from Wednesday 18th March, as teachers have given work to students to bring them up to this point.
If your child is in an examination year please reassure them that the Department of Education will have a contingency plan in place with regards to upcoming practical and orals examinations and that we will ensure that all of these are communicated to them as soon as the details are provided to schools.

Thank you for your continued cooperation in this ever changing situation and we wish you all well over the coming weeks.

Yours in education,

Michael Walshe

Principal
